West Briton, 29 April 1859

MINE ACCIDENT - On Tuesday last, in consequence of the non-appearance to grass of John GRENFELL, who worked in Bosorn Mine, search was made in the level, when it was found that a run had taken place and that the poor fellow was shut in. Eleven men were immediately set to work, and after several hours' labour, his voice was heard and he was liberated after many hours' confinement. He had his week's candles with him, so was enabled to keep a constant light, and when he became cold he pitched to work again, observing when he was liberated "I have never done two such cores in my life."
