Family Trees Index

The data has been gleaned from many different sources – Parish Registers, Family Search, the Phillimore Marriage Index, books, wills and other documents and indexes. Also information from more than 50 researchers to who have given their permission to include their data and to use their names as source references. The vast majority of events contain a source reference but there are a few which do not..

I am particularly grateful for the guidance I have received from the extensive work carried out by the St Just Research Group of the Cornish Association of Victoria, Australia. Some information has been obtained from, and is the copyright of Burke’s Peerage, Baronetage and Knightage – 106th edition, Morris Genealogical books SA, 7 rue de Bugnon, 1299 Crans, Switzerland – email: bmorris@pavilion.co.uk. A list of all the sources is included on the database.

There are ERRORS, not too many of them. Certainly there may be confusion between dates of births and christenings, and deaths and burials. As with all data of this nature it should only be used as a guide for further research into primary sources and no guarantee can be given or implied as to the accuracy of any information on the site or the data included.

Every effort has been made not to include people who may still be alive. The research has erred on the safe side by not including anyone born after 1919 unless the details of their death or burial have been confirmed. Apologies if any have slipped through the net.

The online database has been generated by GedSite, a programme written by John Cardinal. The records, which are stored in ROOTSMAGIC v. 7.5.3 were transferred to GedSite using GEDCOM 5.5.
